The inception of Bagong Sirang High School now

DÑA. BASILICA S. QUILON MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL

 

 

     It was because of the benevolence of the Quilon brothers that Dña. Basilia S. Quilon Memorial High school now exists…and through the efforts of a few head starters…this school was started.

 

            Putting up a public secondary school in a far-flung barangay is not easy. It is hard and a challenging job which requires a combination of different virtues to anyone who is dreaming to have it. But for a man who wishes and aims NOTHING BUT TO HELP uplift his barangay folks who are financially unstable and less fortunate- the impossible dream of bringing education near them is NOT IMPOSSIBLE. For him it is a Godly mission. And he is right, because when he presented his idea of putting up a high school in his own barangay during the 36th Commencement Exercises of Bagong Sirang Elementary School where he was invited to speak with the late Punong Barangay, Salvador C. Borbe together with the school principal of the said school and with almost 100% parents in attendance during the said occasion all had unanimously, excitedly and happily agreed and approved his idea. Happiness and feelings of hope were seen on their faces.

 

            The incident of opening and airing the idea of putting up high school was again repeated during the Barangay assembly on May 2004 with Hon. Tomas P. Bongalonta, Jr., Pili Municipal Mayor who happened to be the guest speaker of the said assembly upon knowing the plan of Mr. Edmundo B. Aladano, who spearheaded developed and was former principal of Curry High School for ten years, the good mayor immediately, approved the plan of having or putting up a high school in Bagong Sirang and he also promised support upon approval of the project proposal made by Mr. Aladano by the then Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lucita L. Año , he begun to visit and invite every family in Bagong Sirang including the nearby barangays whom he knew had incoming first year students. Hence, enrollment for the SY 2004-2005 was successfully done. Thus, the birth of Bagong Sirang High School.
